Adventurous Activity Permits

The adventurous activity permit scheme is an internal assessment scheme designed to ensure that all those leading adventurous activities for young people within Scouting have the skills, experience and personal suitability to do so.

Most outdoor pursuits are included in the scheme the main exceptions being Air Activities, Shooting and Swimming.  You will find details of the scheme by clicking here .

The County has a number Activity Assessors to help you gain a permit.  They can help with both training and assessment in most cases. Currently, we have County Assessors for

  • Archery
  • Canoeing
  • Climbing
  • Hill Walking
  • Kayaking
  • Motor Cruising
  • Narrow Boating
  • Power Boating
  • Rafting

In the region there are Assessors for

  • Mountain Biking
  • Caving
  • Underwater Diving
  • Pulling
  • Bell Boating

So there is lots of help and support available.
