County Klatsch 2023

County Klatsch 2023

We are delighted to invite you to our County Klatsch, which will take place on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, 9.30 to 4.30pm at Bishop Perowne High School in Worcester. This meeting will be an excellent opportunity to collaborate as a community, catch up on key updates, and exchange ideas and best practices.

What’s a Klatsch I hear you thinking… Well, it’s an informal social gathering at which coffee is served. We will add various drinks and food to our gathering, with some excellent conversations on Scouting.

We would like to extend a special invitation to all Young Leaders, who will have their summit during the first half of the day. This summit will allow  Young Leaders to connect, share their experiences, and learn from each other. After the summit, Young Leaders will be included in the rest of the sessions for the day.

At the upcoming Klatsch, we will have a conference session for adults covering the following topics:

  • The latest Transformation updates from our headquarters including fundamental changes to the make up executive committees and programme delivery
  • Details on the next stages of implementation
  • An opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions
  • Representation from HQ staff

There have been several new updates and movements as the transformation project has been initiated, with these changes being the most made in over 30 years of Scouting.

In addition to the conference session, we will also have breakout sessions covering various topics. These sessions will provide a deeper dive into topics such as:

  • Grants – applying and sources
  • Xero and finance
  • Expense Cards and approaches to be leader friendly
  • Tools for Leaders
  • Online Scout Manager
  • Scoutcraft
  • Games
  • D of E
  • KSA
  • Recruitment for Adults
  • Programmes and Activities
  • Embedding Youth into Leadership Teams
  • County Activity Support
  • Scouts RAM

We believe that these sessions will provide you with practical insights and tools that you can take back to your Scouting and put into practice. You can state your preferences and submit suggestions if there is anything else you want us to cover in these breakout sessions as well. Part of this is share what’s going on across the County, learn new skills or take away ideas to use locally. We hope that the day will be really useful to all involved in Scouting.

Please let all your fellow leaders know of this event, in case the usual email filters get in the way. Also, check in with your Young Leaders and extend the invite too. It would be great if we could have leaders and representatives from every section in groups and also District teams. We also plan to make a lot of changes at County level too and would appreciate your input!

During the day full refreshments and lunch will be provided.

We hope that you can join us for this informative and interactive day. Please RSVP your attendance on this form and let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
