I’m a Pancake! Get Me Out of Here!

A message from the Young Leader Team:

“We are excited to announce the launch of our first Night In a Box. The theme is Pancakes, ready for Shrove Tuesday on the 16th February. All the details can be found below including links to access the video, quiz and leader pack. We hope you enjoy the activities we have put together for you to use. It would be great to see pictures of your young people’s chef hats and pancakes so please send photos to youngleaders@scoutshw.org.uk. We’ll share them on our Night in a Box showcase page.

Have fun, stay safe and we look forward to seeing your adventures!”

We have a few suggestions below on how you can use these resources, but they are designed to be flexible and fit how you work so please adapt them to suit what you need.

Virtual Evenings

To use this as part of your evening you can screen share the video (don’t forget to share the sound), pausing when needed and get your young people to have a go along with the video.  For the older sections you might want to do this all in one night but the younger sections might need it to be split it over two, making chef hats one night and pancakes another.

Programmes at Home

If you are not currently running virtual section nights you can also use this resource as an activity for young people to do at home.  You could link this with some other badge work and set it via the Online Scout Manager Badges at Home feature.  Remember that our County pays for all Groups to have a Gold membership on OSM, so if you don’t have OSM yet check out this page on our website: Online Scout Manager
