Leaders’ Walking Weekend – Lake District

Between: 20th May 2022 - 22nd May 2022 Location: St John in the Vale Centre, Keswick CA12 4UB Sections: Adult Volunteer

Join us for a weekend of walking in the glorious Lake District, hiking amongst the most iconic peaks in the National Park.

There will be two full days of walking led by experienced walk leaders  who will be happy to pass on their knowledge to help improve your navigational skills, whether you are working towards gaining a permit or not.

The trip is open to all leaders and is also an opportunity for those who would like to gain a hillwalking permit to be assessed. Climbers are also welcome.

Event leaders will decide the final routes on the weekend and there will be different options depending on ability and current conditions.

You should have some hillwalking experience and a medium to good level of fitness as we’ll be in the mountains all day. Most important is that everyone has all the kit on the list so we stay safe – download the kit list HERE.

We will have exclusive use of the Youth Centre in St Johns-in-the-Vale, Keswick, which provides comfortable, warm accommodation with large social and dining areas. It also benefits from stunning views out towards Blencathra and can sleep up to 26 in dorms.

Cost for the weekend will be £70 including food and accommodation and will be subject to Scouting being in Green Readiness level.

The cost doesn’t include transport and we’d encourage you to share lifts with other attendees. Mark can put you in contact with other leaders in your area.

You can book this event via our online Shop (see Book Now button below). Before you do this, please complete the booking form so that we have your full contact details and other relevant personal information. Thank you.
