SOWA Discovery Event

Scouts of the World Award (SOWA) is one of the top awards for Scout Network members. It gives you the chance to take real action with a project themed around peace, the environment, and/or sustainable development. It’s an international award open to Scouts from over 50 countries. The first step to getting your SOWA is to go to a discovery event such as this one. They’re run over a weekend or several evenings, and can be in person or online (there’s a list on the page linked above). You’ll be introduced to what the award is, find inspiration from previous SOWA projects, and learn the skills you need to get your award.

Scouts Hereford and Worcester Discovery Weekend

Where: In person at Kinver Scout Camp, The Compa, Kinver, DY7 6HR (indoor accommodation)
When: 21st March 2025, 8pm to 23rd March 2025, finishing approximately 3pm 
Who: Open to all Scout Network members from across the UK
Cost: £25 (this includes food and accommodation and is non-refundable)

Trainers for this weekend include Lauren Wheeldon (14+ Lead for Scouts Hereford and Worcester) and Steve Eddies (Network lead for Scouts Worcester).
