Snowdonia Mountain Walking Weekend
Snowdonia Mountain Walking Weekend for Scouts and Explorers
Dates: 7th to 9th October 2022 (5pm Friday to 5pm Sunday)

Two days walking in the beautiful Snowdonia mountains led by experienced terrain 2 permit holders. This is an opportunity for Scouts and Explorer Scouts to walk amongst the most iconic peaks in the National Park and, weather allowing, to climb to the tops. In past years we have walked the Carneddau, Glyders, Snowdon itself, as well as outlier peaks such as Moel Siabod.
Routes will be decided on the weekend and there will be different options depending on ability and of course the weather.
The weekend is pitched at those who have some hill walking experience and a medium to good level of fitness as we’ll be in the mountains all day. Most important is that everyone has all the kit on the list so we stay safe.
All attendees (if they choose) can practice their navigation, and walk leaders will be happy to help young people earn navigation and hill walking badges, as well as to coach anyone working towards hillwalking leader permits.
Accommodation is fully catered in the comfortable Old School Lodge in Deiniolen, near Llanberis.
Scouts will be accompanied by their own leaders and booking will be through them, as will transport to and from Snowdonia.
Leaders are invited to register their interest in taking Scouts/Explorer Scouts on the trip by emailing event organiser Mark Graham on mark.graham@scoutshw.org.uk. Mark will then send you a booking form and more details.
