Join the Adventure – County Trip to Kandersteg 2028

Join the Adventure – County Trip to Kandersteg 2028

We’re excited to announce that planning is underway for our County Trip to Kandersteg in 2028 – and we’re looking for enthusiastic leaders to join the team that will make it all happen!

This time, we’re making a few changes to how we run the trip. Young people will still travel in the same way as previous years – though heading out by coach, air or train- your subcamp/ district decides, taking part in incredible activities, and immersing themselves in the unique culture and adventure that Kandersteg offers.

However, instead of travelling as one large County unit, we will split into two groups:

  • Group 1 will travel out first, taking the equipment, setting up, and preparing the site then carrying on with their KISC adventure for the week, returning to the UK.
  • Group 2 will arrive later, making use of the setup, enjoying the same great programme, and returning the equipment to the UK.

This new approach will give everyone more freedom and create a stronger international feel by having fewer UK members on-site at any one time. Also, the sub camps will have autonomy with a framework to Scout in.

We’re keeping the much-loved format of travel, activities, and cultural experiences – but with the addition of:

  • Catering teams to provide well-organised meals for our participants and adults.
  • Sub-camps based on district areas to give a local identity to each group while still being part of the wider County adventure.

We Need You!

We’re building a dedicated team to deliver this trip and are looking for people who can commit either to:

  • The full three weeks (preparation, stay, and close-down), or
  • A sub-camp visiting role for part of the trip.

If you wish to be on the team, we appreciate that everyone has different commitments and times people can book off work. We will work with all of our volunteers to support attendance.

Whether you’ve been to Kandersteg before and can bring your experience, or you’re completely new and ready to dive in, we’d love you to be part of the fun!

We are particularly looking for:

  • Sub-Camp Leads (covering each district)
  • Catering Supporters / Lead
  • Logistics Supporters / Lead
  • Finance Supporters / Lead
  • Operations Support

…and anything else you feel you could offer – this is an open call for interest!

How to Get Involved

Applications are open until 1st October 2025. After that date, members of the County Team will be in touch with those who express an interest to discuss next steps.

If you’re ready to help deliver an unforgettable Kandersteg experience for our young people, please put your name forward – and let’s start planning the adventure of a lifetime!
