Operation Bald Eagle

What is OBE?

Operation Bald Eagle is a competitive skills & teamwork event. Scouts based in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire can participate.

The event is in three part:

  • The Friday Night Challenge
  • The Saturday Day Challenges – around 30 activities situated on the campsite
  • The Night Incident Hike (a wide range of challenge & food bases done over an 8-mile course in under 6 hours)

Each activity is important, but the key to being successful rests with those who show good teamwork!

Points are awarded in each part of the competition. The team gaining the most marks will will the OBE Eagle Trophy and teams winning individual areas of the event will receive certificates.

Conditions of Entry

  • Open to all Scout Troops in Scouts Hereford & Worcester and Scouts Gloucester
  • Scouts should preferably have a basic understanding of map reading
  • Teams should have between 4 and 7 Scouts
  • Troops can enter multiple teams
  • Cost: £40 per scout (plus your own food and transport costs)

 How to apply

  • Applications open on 1st June – please check back then
  • Entries are first come, first served basis

  • We no longer accept cheques

Although challenging, this event is huge fun so it is very popular and spaces are limited. The organisers recommend you don’t delay in applying 🙂
