The specialist kit will be provided winter boots, crampons, ice axe and helmets–
optional items below are OPTIONAL. We don’t expect you to go out and buy, but
you may wish to.

NOTE – We will have access to drying rooms, so you don’t need an item for every
day of the trip. If you have articulated ski / mountain trousers suitable for walking in,
please bring them along. However, you don’t need to purchase specialist trousers.
NOTE – We will carry a hygiene box which will contain spare towels, body wash,
tampons, and pads in case any of these items do get forgotten.
NOTE – You will need to have to wear up to 5 layers a day outside, but these will
come on and off over the day, so make sure there’s room in your daysack.
NOTE – You do not need cutlery, plate, bowl, etc
Walk Wear
• Woolly Hats
• Gloves (Thick Ski Type)

• Waterproof Trousers (please note they may get holes in them from
crampons)
• Waterproof Coat
• Pack-small insulated jacket e.g. Down or synthetic (OPTIONAL)
• Gaiters (OPTIONAL– but will help to keep the snow out)
NOTE – If you have more than two pairs of gloves, we would advise you to bring
them.
Walking Kit
• Ski Goggles (Categories 0, 1 and 2) – if you can double layered
• Sunglasses
• Orange Survival Bag – click here for an example
• Whistle (Pea-less) on a lanyard
• 1 Litre Water Bottle
• Small Thermos for Hot Chocolate or Tea/Coffee (OPTIONAL)
• Head torch with spare batteries
• Personal First Aid kit (For Cuts and Scrapes)
• Lunch bag, e.g. dry bag or lunch bag, not a box – ideally, don’t want to take
your gloves off to eat. Boxes are bulky too.
• Walking Poles (OPTIONAL)
• Walking Bag
NOTE – Your Walking rucksack must fit spare layers (contained within a dry bag) ,
food and drink, and walking items all INSIDE!!! of your rucksack – ideally a 30 to
40L Bag. Line the bag with a heavy-duty liner, drybag or heavy-duty bin liner.
NOTE – Leave enough space for a 1-litre bottle because you will be given crampons
when we arrive.
NOTE – Please pack no more than two bags, one your kit bag and the other your
daypack.
NOTE – Your kit bag can be a large holdall or an expedition bag, which we will
place in the kit van.
